Generally, everything which has been created by man has a need behind it. Some natural events like earthquake, flood, famine, and … has resulted in some of the aged homelessness and loneliness. Regarding the fact that human being need more attention, care, and support and even some of them are not able to do their simple personal works. Therefore, Madar sanatorium of Sabzevar was opened at Bahman 1379 in presence of the Head of Social Welfare Organization. It was accomplished by the aids of some philanthropists of our city and magnanimity of Sabzevar Social Welfare Organization and God’s compassion above all. It began its activity in Ordibehesht 1380 by admission of 11 old women from Mashhad and reached to 60 people at the end of 1380. Since it was the only charitable institution for old women in Khorasan province and its capacity was not enough for the great number of applicants, the board of trustees and Social Welfare Organization tried to increase its capacity to 90 persons at the end of 1383 and 150 persons at the end of 1385. Presently, it is the biggest center of keeping the aged in the East of Iran with the capacity of 150 old women.
